12 Kits of Christmas: February

Yay! Its that time again, for the 12 Kits of Christmas February Edition :) Didn't see January's? Did you stumble across this blog hop and you're wondering what its all about? Read all about it here on my January post.

This month, our kit was from Cathy from Empty Nest Crafter. Look at all the awesome goodies she sent!

And on to the cards I was able to create with this fabulous kit! First, a group shot:

And then the close ups. This is the first card I created with the kit. I was loving that she sent one of the bears cut out of felt! Even his little scarf was in felt, too :) And the snowflake embossing on the snowglobe was pretty awesome, too.

This is the second card I made and is one of my favorites. I love all the patterned papers that Cathy sent, and I love that they're not all the traditional Christmas colors. The neat text paper especially caught my eye! I used my Copics to give the polar bear a BG10 cool shadow and also a striped scarf to match the colors of the card.

There was a note in the kit that said to think long and hard about opening up the synthetic snow, well I gave it a shot. Next time I'm going to have to break out the Glossy Accents to hold it down though, because Tombo didn't work too well (there was a lot more snow when I started ;)

And I think that this last one is my favorite of the bunch. Cathy sent the snowglobe all cut out, so I knew I would definitely make a card with it. I did add the snow from the PTI snowdrifts die, but absolutely everything else on all four cards is from the kit except for the card bases.

So what do you think? What was your favorite? I'm excited that now I have 8 cards done for Christmas and its only February! Now I know that you're dyeing to see what the other talented women in the 12 Kits of Christmas group came up with...I know I am!! Go ahead and hop on over to their blogs from the list below.

  1. Good job picking a favorite out of this group Jessica. Every card has something amazing! I love that you used the felt bear and added a little face to him. I was worried about sending that one. I love the stripped scarf you colored, laughed when you talked about the snow and how hard it was to tack down. For me too! You even used the pom pom balls and the red rhinestones. You made four really wonderful cards out of my little kit. Great job!

  2. I love your favorite card too......the simplicity and your layering of all those papers. So yummy especially with the little row of 3 buttons! But MY favorite is that snow globe card. Wow! I love the shading of Mr. Bear with your Copic....a tip I shall use later. :)

  4. Jessica, I love the second one! I love the striped scarf and the multi-colored buttons as well as the general layout, but really they're all GREAT! I can't get over how many layouts you always seem to come up with...so creative! They always look so good too.

  5. These are super sweet, Jessica! I think the second one is my favorite too--I just adore that striped scarf and the way it complements the strips of paper. Your shaped card is fantastic too. Love that you added the snow drift, the banner, and the row of gems. Awesome job with the kit this month!

  6. Oh wow Jessica!! You outdid yourself - You made 4 cards and each one better than the last - the highlight for me was how you put your own original touch on each one..... the stried scarf - that smile on the felt polar bear, the snow drift of sparkly flakes and the row of pom pom snowballs.... all really great details that make it a one of a kind! Beautiful!

  7. OMG, Jessica--these are all wonderful! And you made FOUR cards! Each one has some special feature--love how you did the face on the felt bear, used some of the snow and created a lovely globe! My favorite though is the one with the striped scarf and matching buttons! I just colored my scarf a plain red--you're SO clever!!

  13. Wow. How fun to see all your careds (again!) Sorry its taken me so long to come back to comment. I love all these cards, and I can't pick a favorite, although I have tried. Perhaps the last card, because I am so impressed that you were able to figure out how to fold that shaped snow globe card.
