PTI Blog Hop

I've been buying PTI product for almost a year now, so I figure its about time I try one of their blog hop challenges! So this month was a "New Year's Resolution" challenge. To use a stamp set that you've never inked up, or that is even collecting dust. I bought this cute couch set quite awhile ago, but just never got around to using it. The sentiment, however, was perfect for the person that I want to send it to, so I just had to use this set for the challenge. All paper and stamped images are from PTI. The flowers in the inside are, also. Punches and embossing folder are from SU. The circle and scallop are Nestabilities, and the ribbon is Michaels. I got the color scheme from another Color Couture insert, and the sketch I borrowed from a cute card I saw in my most recent edition of CardMaker magazine. Hope you enjoy!

PPA #77

Edited to enter for an AWESOME PTI prize package!!!

Nichole from PTI asked us to look back and pick our favorite card we made with PTI products this year. I know this one was very recent, but I love how my style is evolving and getting more sophisticated. I loved this sketch and the colors (Thanks to Dawn and her Color Couture!) so I thought this one could be a contender. Keep your fingers crossed that I win...this is an amazing prize package!!

My mother-in-law's birthday is next week, and what perfect timing, I just got the awesome new birthday stamp set and number die set from PTI! I also got the Color Couture binder with some of the inspiration inserts the last time I ordered, so that is where my color scheme came from. I would have never put these colors together, but I love them! I like the sketch for the challenge, too. All the paper is from PTI, stamps and embellishments are, too (the flowers and little polka dot border came with the color inspirations pack, you just cut them out and they match perfectly). The punches are from SU and the clear button came from a pack I found on sale at A.C. Moore awhile back. After I used the number dies to cut out the "47" I used the background sheet music stamps I also got in my order to give the numbers that extra "oomph." I am getting into decorating the insides of cards lately, too, and I love how it makes them feel so much more pretty and like much more work was put into them. It does, however, make them a lot more expensive to mail!

PPA #76 & CPS #201

My what a challenge: Two challenges in one card!

My hubby starts his first day of his new job tomorrow, so I wanted to wish him good luck. I used a sketch challenge from CPS and an inspiration challenge from PPA to come up with this design. I'm very happy with how it turned out, and he liked it, too :) The stamp sets are from PTI (except for the Congratulations in the inside which is from Michael's...dollar bin). All paper is from SU. The red rhinestones from Michaels as well. Two punches from SU and the Top Note Sizzix Die were used, too.

Cute Cake

To go along with the birthday card I made for Suzanne, I dug into some of my new Sizzix dies to make an adorable cake box to match the card.

And what's inside?
Ghiridelli Mint Chocolate and some gingham ribbon (her favorite ribbon :)

The top part is a new bow Sizzix die that turned out awesome!

First I cut the cake box using Mat board so that it is a sturdy box. I cut everything again in regular colored cardstock (all SU) so that it wouldn't be a plain white cake. The tag is from SU stamps and the scallop punch. The orange rhinestones are from Michaels. The ruler paper I got at a local stamp store. I think she'll like it, it turned out pretty cute!

CPS #199

And this is the sketch challenge for this week that I used to create this card:

Well, its about time I got back to some challenges! I don't even remember the last time I did one. It was fun :) This card is a VERY be-lated birthday card for one of my awesome stampin' friends, Suzanne (if you see this before tomorrow, Suzanne, act surprised ;) We're finally celebrating her early Dec. birthday tomorrow with lunch and a movie, and I still hadn't given her a card, so I knew I needed to get busy tonight. All paper is from SU, and so are most of the stamps. The sentiments are from PTI and the stitches and dress form are from a Hero Arts set. I love all the sewing themed items that SU has in the new mini. That is where I got my color inspiration for this card. Hopefully this gets me back into a challenge streak :)

Oldie, but Goodie

I didn't want to break my "resolution" on the first week of January, but I just haven't made any cards this week, so I went to my card tree and picked out this one. It is in honor of living in MA for 2 years as of the other day, so it is fitting. I made a bunch of these for our change of address cards. This one is a bit bent at the top because it has been clipped on the card tree for two years, but you get the point ;) The stamp, paper, and little clip are from SU. The ribbon was from Michaels, and the card itself was a premade card from Jo-Anns that I just decorated. I ended up making a bunch similar to this for my first SU convention that I attended that year.
