12 Kits of Occasions December 2015

Oh My GOSH! This kit was SOOO amazing! I also had it completed almost before the month began, and thank goodness, because I was short on Christmas cards...but Lindsey to the rescue! I created TEN with her fabulous kit. I also found some new stamps to love and had to purchase the Ellen Hutson house stamps and dies because they were just so darn cute. It's really hard for me to pick my favorite card this time because I just love the colors and images. I chose the "peace" card for the blog because it is so serene and reminds me of camping. I actually gave it to Phillip as his card because of it. I really loved this kit oh so much!

Make sure to head over to the 12 Kits blog after you check out my cards (it may take you awhile, don't forget I made 10!) to check out what the other ladies created and see the supply list, but also for some news! Hope you all had a Merry Christmas, and here's wishing you a very crafty new year :)

MFT Sketch Challenge #260

I got some adorable new MFT stamps for Christmas, so decided that I would play along with this week's sketch challenge. I first started with the second card pictured, but tried tilting it on the second (which is actually the first pictured) and ended up liking that one even more, so I am submitting that one. Which do you prefer?

The 12 Kits of Occasions November 2015

Kim sent us an adorable kit this month that included some really sweet images from My Favorite Things. There were some adorable fall images from the Harvest Mouse set, but as you can see below I decided to go all holiday...hey, I needed more Christmas cards, okay? ;) I loved these adorable polar bears and the fun washi tape and polka dot paper she sent. I did add two of my own new sentiments from MFT (the holly jolly and warm wishes sentiments) but other than that everything is from Kim's cute kit. Make sure to stop by the 12 Kits blog to see what everyone else created this month, too! I hear there's a chance to win next month's kit!

The 12 Kits of Occasions: October 2015

This kit was put together by Joyce and I loved it! I really had wanted that cute suitcase set from PTI, but didn't buy it, it was so fun to use it :) I loved the papers and colors that she added to the kit. There were also some fun scenes of worldly places and some really great sentiments. I created 4 cards but have some leftovers so I can copy some that I see after the blog posts tomorrow :)

I especially love the sentiment on the second card because this has been Sonny's favorite book lately..."Oh the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss. In fact I've read it so much lately that I can almost recite it by heart!

The 12 Kits of Occasions October 2015

Not only is it time for the 12 kits, it is my month to be the hostess! I got Halloween as my theme (specifically Welcome to my Nightmare). I don't even own a scary Halloween stamp, so everyone got a kit full of cuteness instead! It was fun to put this together as I have many Halloween sets. I'm sorry to say that I only created 4 cards this month as I have family visiting for a very big event that is happening on Friday...Sonny is turning TWO! I think this is the very first time that I waited until the night before our post to sit down to create, but lucky for me I have all the supplies still sitting out on my desk so I can get crafty after the celebration and make even more Halloween cards, and I can be inspired by the fabulous cards my talented friends create!

12 Kits of Occasions August 2015

This month was Michelle's first kit and my oh my! Not only was there a ton of fun stuff to play with, she gave us all a fun mystery challenge. She said that she put something in the kit that didn't really go with it and it was our challenge to use it. I THINK that I got it...the hanger! Although there was one other thing that I couldn't really make fit, there was a circle die cut that said "life." I tried pretty hard to use that, too, but I just couldn't make it fit. I do love a good challenge, though! It got me really in the card making mood, because as you see below I made 7 cards this month :) The hanger one is a bit unusual, but hey you try using a hanger with this kit ;) Next month is my month so I've been busy finishing up stamping, cutting, and die cutting so that I can send them out to the girls. Make sure to stop by all of their blogs to see what they've done (and see who actually used the right mystery item!).

12 Kits of Occasions July 2015

It's Christmas in July and our kit this month came from Cathy! With stockings, birds, reindeer, and more, this kit was a lot of fun to work with. I think these might be my first Christmas cards of the year...I've got a lot to go to get ready for the holiday....5 cards down (and about 55 more to go, ahhh!) Here's what I made this month:

12 Kits of Occasions June 2015

Hi everyone! This month is leftovers month, and what a wonderful box chock full of leftovers we all have! I started with last month's kit (which was actually still laid out on my desk!) and created two cards. Then I pulled out two other kits from this year. The butterfly card I made in particular for my niece who told me that she wants to have a butterfly birthday party and that blue and purple butterflies are her favorite :) I wish I had a chance to pull out every kit from the year (this post would have had about 40 cards!) but we are actually heading out for our vacation (by the time you read this I'll already be back :( On the first card I used my new Zig Clean Color pens that Jennifer McGuire convinced me to get. I definitely like them, but need more practice, too! Off to finish packing the camper, make sure to visit all of my talented friends and their guests this month to see what they did with all of their leftovers!

The 12 Kits of Occasions May 2015

Jeanne brought us the most amazing masculine kit this month. There were SO many different themes, fishing, cowboy, motorcycles, birds, deer, electronics, and the list goes on! In fact I had no idea where to start there was so much in this kit! I just started laying everything out and them some cards started falling together. You should see what is still left on my desk, several half done cards (for later) and TONS of supplies! I loved this kit. I don't have a lot of masculine sets, but since I have a house full of boys this gave me a good sampling of what I can buy in the future :) Check out what I made below and then make sure to stop by my fellow 12 Kitters blogs' and give them some loving as well. Thanks  for coming by!

The 12 Kits of Occasions April 2015

This month our kit came all the way from Canada! When I opened Tracey's kit I immediately smiled when I saw the bright colors and sweet little suns and clouds :) There were also two cool striped straws that I just didn't know what to do with so I'm looking forward to seeing what the other girls create with them! I think my favorite card I made is the last one because it reminds me of my own sweet "Sunny." The second card comes just at the right time for one of my coworkers who is having a tough time in her relationship, I really like that quote and I think it will mean a lot to her. I have a lot more from the kit sitting on my desk with some partial cards made, but these were the only three full ones that I had ready to share. You better believe I will be making some more soon, though! Now make sure to check out my talented friends this month as well. And one of our original 12 Kitters is back this month, Suzanne!
