Make it Monday #57: Colored Kissing

I have a friend who had some absolutely fabulous news yesterday, so I wanted to make her a card to let her know how happy I am for her! I used PTI's Make It Monday to create this card for her:

I used PTI's Signature Series Dress Form, Mat Stack #1, Glory Be, the Fillagree border die, In Bloom patterned paper, Smokey Shadow ribbon and cardstock, and Melon Berry cardstock.

The kissing technique was pretty fun to do. I used the BB Tin Types to "kiss." It's a really cool technique and you should all give it a shot!

Market Street Stamps Paint the Town #12

I decided to make a little thank-you card for my friend Gerry who came to my Amuse party on Saturday with a beautiful bouquet of tulips for me! Here is the card using my fabulous MSS prize from a couple of releases ago:

And here are the colors I used (my "peacock" I'm just now realizing is not quite as peacock as the one in the picture, but still in the same family, I suppose):

I guess I made up for it by actually using a peacock :) Isn't this bird great! I used PTI's Hawaiian shores and colored some of the hearts in with Copics. The mat stack is from PTI and is #5. I also used PTI edgers dies to create the scallops on top, and a Sizzix embossing folder to emboss the dots.

This great sentiment came with the set, too :)

The twine is from the Twinery and the rhinestones are from Q & Co.

There's still time to play, so why don't you head over and give it a shot, here!

Amuse Party!

I hosted my first Amuse party at my house on Saturday with some of my closest crafty friends, including Suzanne, who was the demonstrator! She had these totally awesome cards for us to make, I just had to show them off because they're so darn cute :)

Don't you just love the sparkle strip? And I love the gingham, clouds and great sentiment on this cheery kite card :)

You know I love this Venetian paper, as you've seen it on two cards I've made in the last few days!

This circus set is so cute, I had to order it! So you'll be seeing more of it when it comes in. Notice the ballerina's skirt? A flower cut in half!

And this last card, my absolute FAVORITE!! I ordered the woodgrain variety paper pack AND the adorable Friends FUR-ever set with that hedgehog...too cute to resist :) Amuse has some seriously cute stuff and they sell paper, ribbon, do-dads (even something called "le pouf" which was cracking me up!), and metal dies and impression plates, too. If you haven't already checked them out, you definitely should. And if you ever want to order anything, I know a really great Amuse consultant!! ;)

Retro Sketches #2

I just received my prize stamp set from the last Paper Smooches Sparks (with lightening speed! Kim emailed me that she just mailed in on Saturday, and it was waiting for me when I got home from work today :) So I had to play with it. I created this adorable card:

Here is the sketch that I used from Retro Sketches #2:

Is this little zebra cute or what?! He is from the new PS Zoo Crew set.

The friend sentiment is from PS Sentiment Sampler. The patterned Venetian paper is from Amuse and so is the polka dot ribbon. The cardstock is from PTI and I cut the Smokey Shadow with one of the half and half dies. The sentiment was stamped in SU white ink.

The Zoo Crew set has many other adorable animals in it, so you'll be seeing them, for sure! Thanks for stopping by :)

Freshly Made Sketches #25

My grandpa's birthday is coming up, so I decided to get a heads start and make his card early. I used this great Venetian paper from Amuse that I got from the party I hosted yesterday! (stay tuned to see pics of the cards we made). Here's the card:

And here's the sketch from this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge:

The typewriter image and "just a note to say" is from Hero Arts. The Happy Birthday Sentiment is from PTI. The corduroy button is from SU and the ribbon is from Amuse.

The polka dot paper is from DCWV.

You will definitely be seeing more of this great Venetian paper, because I ordered a multi pack! Hope everyone had a nice weekend, we sure had beautiful weather here today, so we took the dogs exploring around our town and saw some really pretty areas that we had no clue existed!

Retro Sketches #1

I love playing along with ColourQ, so when I saw that some of the DT girls were starting a new site called Retro Sketches, I had to give it a shot! So here's my card for their first challenge:

Here's the sketch:

The green paper is SU Old Olive and the blue is PTI Aqua Mist. On the Aqua Mist I stamped PTI's BB Retro. The twine is from The Twinery.

The little monster, I know you've seen before on my blog! Hehehe, he is from Paper Smooches' Falling for You. The sentiment is actually one that I got a really long time ago in the dollar bin at Michaels or Joanns.

The patterned paper that I stamped the monster on is from an old SU DSP pack.

This is pretty clean and simple for me, but I must admit, I love it! Want to try this sketch out yourself? Head on over to the Retro Sketches blog here.

Paper Smooches Sparks

I decided to give the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge another shot and I created this card:

I took the rough texture of the stone, clock, and wall into consideration. I also took the round shape of the clock and its stripes and colors into my card. The black letters on my card are from the black numbers on the clock.

I used this cute little twister and sentiment from PS Eco Friendly. The cardstock behind it is PTI and so is the base of the card. I colored the twister with Copics.

The "hi" is from PTI's lower case alphabet die. Usually the PS sentiment has "hi" already in it, but I wanted the hi to stand out, so I just wiped it off before I stamped so I could use the die cut letters instead. The texture is from a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The twine is from The Twinery. The circle was cut out using a Nestabilities die.

Thanks for stopping by!
