Paper Smooches Sparks Trend Watch September 2013

IMG_6989

I don't think I've played in a Paper Smooches challenge since my DT term ended, so this was fun. You guys know how much I love my Paper Smooches! So I broke into some new dies to make a thank you card for this week's challenge. I have a lot to be thankful for lately, friends and family have spoiled me and Sonny with gifts for both him and for me for my birthday, so I've been making tons of thank you notes. I used just PS dies on this card (no stamping?! shock!). Believe it or not those rolled flowers were made for me as part of a birthday gift at least a year (or possibly two) ago by a friend (thanks, Gerry!). The patterned paper is from PTI. I love how sort of shabby chic this card turned out.

Paper Smooches Sparks Cool Shades May 2013

Paper Smooches Sparks Cool Shades May 2013

Another nautical theme, isn't it fun that PS now has all this cool nautical themed stuff? Today I used the awesome sailboat die, "Chit Chat," and "Summer Grooves" to create this card. Its hard to tell from the pic, but the ribbon is navy blue striped, and those are little wooden stars on the washi tape. I have a feeling that I will be using this sailboat die a lot..its so versatile! You can easily change the flag and sails. Here are the colors we were given this week to play with:

Paper Smooches Sparks Trend Watch May 2013

Paper Smooches Sparks Trend Watch May 2013

This week's Trend Watch challenge is Nautical. I had this fun paper that I won awhile back and when I took it out and decided to go with the fish paper, I knew right away that I had to use some of the new PS dies I recently received. The little fish is from the sailboat die. The waves are from the borders die. The sentiment is from the "Surf and Turf" set. The pearls are from Q&Co and the cardstock is from PTI. The patterned paper is from Pink Paislee.

Do you have any nautical stamps? Why don't you play along this week? Here is the inspiration photo:

The patterned paper is from PTI, and so is the cardstock. The twine is from the Twinery. Check out the colors we were given to play with this week:

Craft Dash #15

10 Minute Craft Dasy #14

Back with another installment and another video for the 10 Minute Craft Dash! So as you'll see in the video I popped up the frame and THEN decided that I wanted my sentiment on the frame...don't do this at home! The sentiment did not come out. I did go in after the challenge and just outline those letters that didn't come out in a pen which I would have done if I had it handy during the dash. Anyway, it took me the full 10 minutes to create the card, as usual. I was quite calm at first thinking this would be an easy card...I was wrong on that one! Here are the colors that we were given:

I used Paper Smooches new "Wicked Nauticool," Duo Die #2, PTI cardstock, and the chevron embossing folder is SU sizzix. And without further ado, here is our video, me, Jen and Jennifer. Although we had no wigs this week, we still had fun! Enjoy :)

Paper Smooches Sparks Trend Watch April 2013

The trend watch for this month was butterflies, so of course I first thought to use "Flap Happy!" Then I used "Bold Blooms," and "We Connect." The "love" is also one of the PS dies that I got in my most recent order. The cardstock and button are from PTI and the twine is from the Twinery. There is a week to play along with this challenge, so why don't you give it a shot? Check it out here.

Hi everyone! Its Paper Smooches time! I used several stamp sets on this card. I used "Spring Fling," "A Magical Spring," "Streamers," and the matching streamers die. This card was really easy and turned out pretty cute, I may have to make a few extras of these before Easter! This week its the cool shades challenge, so here are the colors we were given to play along with:

Paper Smooches Sparks Designer Drafts March 2013

Paper Smooches Sparks Designer Drafts March 2013

My sister's birthday is tomorrow, and the last time that she visited, we had fun going out to get "gourmet coffee" every afternoon. So I thought it would be fun to get her a Starbucks gift card and make a fun card to go along with it. I used these Paper Smooches sets: "Helping Hands," "Hot Concoctions," "Birthday Sampler," "Graffiti." I wanted to make the sentiment coffee themed and birthday at the same time, so I used the birthday sentiment, and made the go venti with the graffiti letter stamps. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye, the cardstock from SU and PTI. The pearls are from Recollections. I used this week's Designer Drafts sketch from the Sparks challenge blog.

10 Minute Craft Dash

10 Minute Craft Dash #13

I did it again! The 10 minute craft dash. Here are the colors we were given this week:

I used Paper Smooches "A Magical Spring" and their hexagon dies. The washi tape and dies were borrowed from Jingle and the cardstock is from PTI. So this week our video has 3 of us trying the challenge at once! And Suzanne was our videographer. Then we had my two dogs and Suzanne's dog, Teddy, try to steal the show at the end! Check it out here:

Little did we know that while we were doing the challenge, so was my husband, Phillip! He wanted me to share his card, so here it is:

Phillip's Card 1

The inside:

Phillip's Card 3

The back (my favorite part ;)

Phillip's Card 2

Thanks for all the positive response from our last video, it is a lot of fun to make! I highly recommend you try this challenge...it is way harder than you'd imagine, but so fun and challenging at the same time!

P.S. It took me the entire 10 minutes to create this card again. I just don't know if I'll ever be able to get them done sooner!

Paper Smooches Sparks Trend Watch March 2013

Paper Smooches Sparks Trend Watch March 2013

It's my turn for another Paper Smooches Sparks post...my favorite post! This month's trend watch was smiles. After seeing the picture, I knew I had to pull out my "Vegtastic" set and use those adorable carrots :) Then I used "Pretty Phrases" to make a fun thank you card. The paper...isn't it perfect? When I saw the ruler with farmer's market, I knew I had to use it. This card was just plain old fun to make :) Now don't you want to play along? You've got a week to make your card and link it up at the sparks blog here.

Now I'm off to check out what the other DT gals created with this fun challenge :)

10 Minute Craft Dash #12

10 Min. Craft Dash #12

Hi everyone! I'm here to share my first ever card for the 10 Minute Craft Dash! And a bonus...there's a video with Suzanne, Jen, and I all completing the challenge at once!

I had never done this challenge before, but I had an idea in my head of what I wanted my card to look like. This was kind of what I had in mind, but I planned on having a 3rd banner in chocolate brown. I was inspired by the little banners that are used in the 10 Minute Craft Dash logo:

I knew I wanted to use the pig...why? Because this is a birthday card for Phillip's great aunt who loves pigs! (she even had one as a pet for years). And I also wanted to use my new banner dies and hot spot dies from Paper Smooches. Everything on this card is from them except for the cardstock and ink which are from PTI.

This challenge was a blast, but wow, it goes by fast! You'll see in the beginning I was going pretty slow, but good grief that time ticks away like nothing! I definitely want to give this challenge another try in the future. Hey maybe you'll even see another video, too ;)

P.S. It took me exactly all 10 minutes to create this card!

Paper Smooches Sparks Cool Shades Feb. 2013

Paper Smooches Sparks Cool Shades Feb. 2013

Notice any new dies?? Oh yeah, I got my Paper Smooches die order! I used three different dies on this card for the PSS Cool shades challenge :)  The Hot Spots Small Set 1 is the cool star die on the left side, the clipboards is the clipboard binder on top, and isn't the scallop notebook die adorable? I used the "I Heart Art" set because I knew I wanted to incorporate the colors into the paint splats :) The heart and arrow are both from SU punches. The patterned paper is PTI, and so is the cardstock. Here is the color story we were given for this month:

Paper Smooches Sparks Trend Watch Feb. 2013

Paper Smooches time! This month's trend watch challenge was to use polka dots...fun, huh? Who doesn't love polka dots? So I used the cute newer set "Bee Mine". The polka dot paper is from PTI, and so is the polka dot ribbon. The scallop punch is from SU. The heart punch I used is also from SU.

Did you guys see all the awesome new dies and stamps that Kim came out with the other day! I have a huge order I'm going to be placing tomorrow, I can't wait to get my hands on those dies! CARDS blog Challenge January 2013

IMG_6885

There is a great Paper Smooches prize pack up for grabs on the CARDS blog challenge that ends this week, so I knew I had to play along! I used my new "Cuteasaurus" Paper Smooches set and "Word Salad" and "Sunny Side Up" for this card. I tried taking the pic two different ways, with the paper behind and below...which do you prefer? I'm trying to decide if one way takes a better photo over the other.

CARDS blog Challenge January 2013

This challenge was a color challenge. I used PTI's Aqua Mist and Simply Chartruse, the grey was from my stash of cardstock. The grass is from a Martha Stewart punch, the hills from PTI, and the embossing is from a Sizzix embossing folder. The polka dots are from the PS "Primary" sent, and the twine is from the Twinery. The challenge goes through tomorrow, so you should definitely check it out if you have time!

Today I also have to show you the back of my card. I had Jen and Suzanne over today for some stamping, and Jen came with our Christmas presents. She had ordered us personalized stamps that look JUST like our personal blog headers!!!! This is it:

I truly will treasure this forever. I love everything about it...and how cool that it says my blog name on it?! I will stamp this on the back of every card I make. Thanks so much, Jen!

Paper Smooches Sparks Trend Watch January 2013

Paper Smooches Sparks Trend Watch January 2013

Hi everyone! Here with my PSS DT post for the Trend Watch Challenge. This month was Vintage. Looking at the phone dials, I knew I wanted to use a phone, and black, white, and red. The phone I used is from "Perpetual Bliss." The TV is from "Boob Tubes" and the sentiment is from "Sentiment Sampler." The heart is from "Needle Little Love." The paper is from Echo Park. I loved that that little heart was in the number paper which reminded me of the phones. The pearls and the washi tape are from Recollections, and the double ended banner die is from PTI. This card was for my husband's birthday which was on the 30th. Okay, time to go check out my fellow DT members' blogs!
