Tracey's 25 Tags of Christmas

What an honor it was when I received an email from Tracey McNeely asking me if I would be a part of her 25 Days of Christmas Tags! Tracey is sooooo sweet and talented. I am truly lucky to be a part of the 12 Kits of Occasions group with her and to be able to call her my friend :) I'm also glad that she asked me because it forced me to get into my craft room (which still has dust on it from when our house was a construction zone!). This tag was fun to make and came together pretty easily. I know that some Christmas present this year will look really cute with this tag hanging off of it!

25 Tags of Christmas

The tag die is from PTI. The tag stamp is from Mama Elephant. The sentiment, birds, leaves, and hearts are from Lawn Fawn. The patterned paper is also from Lawn Fawn. The ribbon is from PTI and the wooden snowflake is from Recollections. If you missed any of Tracey's tags you have missed out, so make sure to go back and check them out!

Lawnscaping Challenge #65

Lawnscaping #65

Something pretty exciting happened recently...we got new neighbors! And not only are they close in age to us, the wife is from Florida, like me, AND she's having her first baby!! She just found out a week or so ago that she's having a boy (just like us!) and they're naming him after his dad (and other dads before him). He will be Ed the 5th. She is decorating his nursery with an animal theme and painting it green, so that is where I got the idea for my card. It was really fun to make. We also got baby Ed a cute little outfit to go along with the card as well. I'm entering this card into this week's Lawnscaping challenge which is to use your favorite supplies to create a project. So I used Lawn Fawn stamps, letter dies, burlap, and those cute wooden stars.

So as of today I'm officially 9 months pregnant...wow! Until recently time has been dragging on...I never thought we'd get here. But of course now I'm thinking, "Sonny, don't come early!" We're having construction done in the house and have been living in the camper in our backyard for a month now, and although I know he'd never remember that he came home to a disaster at his house, I don't want to bring my new baby into the mess, so keep your fingers crossed that he doesn't come early and that the contractors get their act together and get our house complete!

Lawnscaping #51

Lawnscaping #51

Another card from my blizzard days. This one is a Valentine's Day card for the Lawnscaping challenge. I used both Lawn Fawn (Critters in the Forrest) and Paper Smooches (Needle Little Love) on this card. The paper is from My Mind's Eye. The big heart is from Sizzix, the ribbon and button and cardstock are from PTI. The twine is from the Twinery.

Here is the challenge photo. You still have all day tomorrow to enter, what are you waiting for??

Lawnscaping Challenge #49

Lawnscaping #49

I got a bunch of new Lawn Fawn sets for Christmas, and I'm just now getting the chance to ink them up! I used two of them in this card. "Admit One" for the ticket and Ferris wheel, and "Critters Down Under" for the sentiment. It actually says "Hoppy Birthday" but I just added the stem to the o to make it an a ;) I knew right away that with this carnival set I had to use that fun October Afternoon paper. I also used a ticket border punch for the edge of the bottom of the front panel. This card turned out really bright, but fun :) I'm entering it into the Lawnscaping Challenge that ends tonight which was to make a birthday themed project in honor of their 2nd birthday. Happy Birthday, Lawn Fawn!

The 12 Kits of Christmas December 2012

Welcome to the last 12 Kits of Christmas post of 2012! I can't believe its here. I have enjoyed this group SO much! Because of it, I got my Christmas cards out in the first week of December this year, and that is a record for me! Usually I'm still working on them on Christmas eve, so they don't get sent out until late. I'm super excited about next year, there will be some changes, and I already have next month's kit containing some of the changes, so make sure to stop by on the last day in January to find out what I'm talking about!

Now, this months kit was sent by Sharron, and boy oh boy did I love it! In fact, I made the most cards that I've made out of any month...a total of 8!

And here are the 8 cards I made...a great start to my stash for 2013!

Lawnscaping #48: Make It Shine Take #2

Lawnscaping: Make It Shine #2

Here is the other card that I made last night for the Make It Shine challenge that Lawnscaping has going on. I used those awesome rhinestone balloons that were also in the little package Sharron sent my way :) I found out through a Christmas letter that one of my fellow Marine wives from back when Phillip and I were first married, is pregnant with her second child. So I made this to send her way :)

The mat stack die is from PTI, the ribbon from Amuse, stamps and sentiment from Lawn Fawn, patterned paper from My Mind's Eye. The clouds are from MFT.

I just stepped out of my craft room to make lunch, but I got two more cards made today, whoo hoo! Hope you are getting some extra crafty time like me :)

Lawnscaping #48: Make It Shine!

Lawnscaping: Make It Shine #1

Hi everyone! I know that my blog has been pretty quiet lately, well, I have 4 days off for a little (much needed!) Christmas break, so I plan to spend a lot of that time in my poor neglected craft room! I already made two cards tonight :) Both for the Lawnscaping Challenge that is going on now. It's to use glitter or rhinestones to make your card sparkle!

I used some rhinestones that were sent to me in a surprise happy mail package that I received this week! I love this time of year, there are either cards or other surprises in the mail every day :) Thanks, Sharron, for these great rhinestones! The paper is from My Mind's Eye, cardstock is PTI. I used Encore silver ink to make the sentiment shine, too :) Stamps are Lawn Fawn. I'm also going to enter this card into this week's SimonSaysStamp challenge which is to make anything "Christmasey."

Lawnscaping Challenge #44

Lawnscaping Challenge #44

This week's challenge at the Lawnscaping blog was to try a new technique. Well, this one is not 100% new to me, but I pulled out my brayer and spectrum ink pad that have only been used once or twice YEARS ago, so its almost new ;) That is how I created that fun colorful background, with the brayer. I felt like they were warm fall colors, so I wanted to use my new "Cozy Christmas" Lawn Fawn set. I also used my Tim Holtz brick die that I bought the last time I was at Absolutely Everything for the top of the card, pretty cool, huh? This is more of a fall card than a Christmas one, so I made up my own little sentiment to work for it. There's still time to play along if you want to link up, I love playing along at Lawnscaping!

Lawnscaping Challenge #43: Texture

Lawnscaping Challenge #43: Texture

I decided to play along with the Lawnscaping challenge again this week, and I made a birthday card for my niece, Autumn, who is turning 1 this week!

This week's challenge was to use texture on your card. So I used my new SU houndstooth embossing folder on one of the strips, and then used some burlap from 7Gypsys. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches, the cute fall paper is from October Afternoon. The leaves are from Paper Smooches "Autumn Grooves." The double ended banner die and the cardstock is from PTI, and the ribbon is from SU. I think this card turned out really sweet :) Speaking of my niece, she's coming up here with my sister for a visit next week and I can't wait!

Lawnscaping Challenge #42: Getting Texty

Lawnscaping Challenge #42 Getting Texty

I pulled out one of my two Lawn Fawn sets to play along with this week's challenge, using text on your card. So I used text in the patterned paper (the newsprint, and even in the dots there is text!) and then with the PTI letter dies to make "meow." Because of the colors in the My Mind's Eye paper, I decided to make my tree a fall one...we are starting to see real fall foliage up here and I love it!

So as I said above the stamps are from Lawn Fawn, papers from My Mind's Eye, cardstock from PTI, and dies, and the twine is from the Twinery. The pearls are from Q & Co. Hopefully your week has been off to a great start so far!

Lawnscaping Challenge #37

My parents are here for a visit and one of our traditions when they're here is to head over to my favorite stamp store, ever...Absolutely Everything! So while I was there, I bought my first ever Lawn Fawn set so that I could start playing along with some of their challenges. Here is the card that I created for my cousin's birthday:

The challenge was to Use Dimension, so I popped up the adorable unicorn.

I took the sentiment that came in this set and I bent it into a half circle on my block to get this look:

The star border die is from PTI. The patterned paper is all from a Lillybee Designs paper pack.

The three little rhinestones are from Q&Co. The cardstock and satin ribbon are from PTI.

So Lawn Fawn images are cute.....really cute!!! Oh boy, this could be bad ;)
