SU Shoebox Swap

This is one of the cards I created for this Sunday's shoebox swap that I'm co-hosting with Nola. All supplies are Stampin' Up. Paper colors are Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, and Chocolate Chip. I used the cool new Sizzix spiderweb embossing folder from the SU mini catalog for the background, and also used the new black jewels from the mini to embellish the card. The ribbon is the Old Olive satin ribbon. The phrase is perfect since I live in New England, now and everyone says "wicked" instead of "super," "great," "awesome," etc. They say wicked all the time! (I even caught myself saying it once!)

TESC #128 Sketch Challenge

This is an old SU set that I actually bought from a stamp yard sale, and had always wanted to use the baby part, I am excited I finally have a reason to! All paper is from SU. The pearls are from A Muse, the little closepins are from my local stamp store. I used the SU scallop border punch and the Martha Stewart fence border punch. The "congratulations" is from the Michaels dollar bin. Great sketch!

CPS #185

I love how this card turned out! I used felt from Paper Trey Ink and one of their border dies for the bottom line (the circles). The patterned paper is all from SU. The ruffled paper is three lines of patterned paper cut with the SU scallop border punch and layered. The ribbon was actually on a gift that someone gave me that I repurposed :) The line of pearls are from Memory Box. The girl stamp is from A Muse as is the sentiment and the clouds. The label punch around the sentiment is from SU. I used SU crystal effects on the balloons to give them that 3D glaze look, and I used Stickles on the clouds to give them their silver lining. This is a birthday card for a family friend that I've known my whole life. I think she'll like it!

CPS #184 Sketch Challenge

I used Accents and Elements from SU on this card for the leaves and the green behind the "Happy 'bird' Day". The owl is the new SU punch that I totally love, and the flowers embossed in the background are from a Sizzix embossing folder SU carries. All paper SU. Ribbon from A Muse. Inside is a Nestabilities die with chalking around the edges. The blue rhinestones are from A.C. Moore.

An "A-Musing" Evening

Tonight I went to my local stamp store and took an A Muse class with Jenn Shurkus. We made 5 adorable Halloween/Fall cards. My favorites are the Owl and Pumpkins. The Owl is especially perfect for New England since it has their signature phrase "Wicked" all over it. It has been rubbing off on me living in MA because I have even caught myself saying it once! Of course I get more attention, though, when I say "ya'll" which I do accidently say, too, LOL. Anyway, just wanted to share these great cards with you!

Mojo Monday #156

I love fall! I'm so glad its here, so I thought I'd use this sketch to make a nice fall card with a stamp set that I hadn't used much yet. The stamp set is from Paper Trey Ink, one of my favorite stamp companies. All paper and ribbon are from SU. Border punch is the new SU ribbon border punch, and the glitter brad is from the SU mini. The sentiment is from another Paper Trey Ink set. I also used one of the PTI dies to cut the little jar ruffles out of some scrap fabric I had. I also worked with my Copics. The pumpkins are shaded and I used BG10 as a shadow around the contents and the inside of the jar. Great sketch!

PPA#59 Color Challenge

Here's my take on this week's PPA Color Challenge. These colors look nice together and include the Old Olive Green that I keep going back to recently, so it was perfect :) The tree is brand new, I just bought the die Die-namics by MFT from my local stamp store yesterday. I tried cutting it from cork, first, but it just didn't work, even running it through the big shot several times, I think the die was just too thin as it is one of the steel dies, or maybe the cork too thick? Anyway, on the paper it shows all the cool woodgrain, so that is a plus. I sponged brown ink onto it to give it a different look as well. The scallop square I cut with a Sizzix die. The button and ribbon and all papers (including patterned paper for leaves) are from SU. The sentiment from Michaels dollar bin and green pearls from A.C. Moore. The little green library clip is from SU. This was also a change for me because it is not a regular sized A2 card! I am enjoying going out of my comfort zone lately :)

2S4Y #60 Sketch Challenge

Tried another cool ribbon technique on this card, making ruffles by using the red sticky tape across the back of the patterned paper and then just folding it and sticking it all the way down. I think it turned out looking pretty cool. The little birdie ribbon I got the other day at Michaels from the dollar bin, too cute! Also, the glittered vine is from the same bin. The stamp sets are both from SU, so are both the large circle and scallop punch. Cardstock and green ribbon from SU, not sure the company of the patterned paper as I got it at a local stamp store yard sale awhile back. Another grandparents day card :)

Mojo #155 Contest

I definitely put my "mojo" into this one, and I love how it turned out! I pulled out my embossing gun for the butterflies. I hadn't used it in forever, but am thinking of using it again in the near future, because it is so neat what it does. I also used some little micro beads that I found marked down at Michaels (4 bottles for 88 cents...whoa!) around the edge of the white circle. I just used Tombo glue to stick them on. The ribbon and all papers are from SU. The label punch with the sentiment (which is A Muse) is also from SU. Both butterflies and sentiment from A Muse. The border punch is from EK Success. The circles were cut with Nestabilities. This will be another grandparents day card for a special grandma. I love this sketch, too, and will definitely revisit it in the future :)

Paper Craft Star Inspiration Challenge #12

This is the first photo inspiration challenge I've done, and I'm proud of the results :) Even my husband, who is pretty critical of them (I'll show him the sketch and my take and he'll be like well what about that little dot there? That wasn't in the sketch, lol) said that I really followed this challenge. Take notice of the dark blue ball in the background with the lighter blue polka dots and you'll see where I got most of my inspiration. I got to this site from a suggestion in one of my comments on my last card, and am so glad that I went! I am just making the deadline for this card and look forward to their challenges in the future. All supplies on this card are from SU except for the Nestabilities die and the sparkle (again taken from the blue balls in the background) is smooch glitter spray. Great challenge!
