Retro Sketches #28

1IMG_6599

This past Saturday we went apple picking with a couple of our friends. We spent hours there, this place was huge! We took a hayride to 3 different orchards. I picked all Honey Crisp since they're my favorite, though :) Then on Sunday I spent all day in the kitchen canning. I made apple salsa, apple butter, and then apple pie (not canned). I've tried it all now, and the only thing was that the salsa was not liquidy enough. Anyway, I wanted to give them a little thank you note to let them know we had a great time. I used this week's Retro Sketches sketch:

I used Paper Smooches "Autumn Grooves" to create the little tree. I used the Amuse woodgrain paper for the trunk, and in a different color for the card base. The gingham paper is from Lilly Bee Designs, and the ribbon from SU.

On another note, I'm still learning a lot about photos. Last night I think I figured out how to do the white balance, and I definitely think it made a difference. I also think I figured out how to keep the pictures larger rather than the one yesterday I was having a problem with. Hope you're having a great week so far!

  5. What a fun day you had. And, then so busy afterward. I remember going to upstate NY as a kid to pick apples, and then my dad would make apple pies with us afterward. So yummy. Your card is just darling, and is just perfect for your occasion.

  6. Sounds like so much fun! Your card is so cute I would not be surprised if they wanted to start selling your cards at the apple orchards. Great photo!

  7. Oh my gosh all your PS cards are killing me! They are SOOOOO stinkin cute!!! :) Yup I used the golf cart for that card set. All your fab posts were the inspiration I needed. I gotta get this Autumn one you just used. LOVE IT! Honey Crisp and Pink Lady apples are a couple of my favs, but then I'm one of those wacky folks who like to eat cooking apples raw. Reminds me of sitting with my gram making applesauce as a kid. :) Sounds like you were wicked productive in the kitchen. Way to go!

  9. Holy moly Jessica, this is amazing! First of all, your photo rocks. Bright. Colorful. Clear. Your mix of woodgrain, gingham, and stripes looks great on the card, and I love the tree. I'm jealous that you went apple picking, and I know that Dave and I will have to go soon!
