The 12 Kits of Christmas May 2012

This month our kit was created by Joyce...don't you just love this fun twist? It required a tweaked banner which Suzanne easily created for us. (Have no clue what I'm talking about? Check back to our first post in January here, it explains it all :) Joyce sent SO many supplies! Check out a taste of what was in our kit:

Look at all the goodies I was able to create!

And now a closer look. First I'll start with the 3 cards:

Next a wine bottle tag:

A gift tag:

And finally, a gift bag w/tag!

I loved the bright cheery colors we were given to work with, blue and yellow are a great combination! I've actually never made a Hanukkah card in my life, so this was a new (and fun) experience for me :)

Joyce not only sent the supply list, but she sent a little explanation of this holiday which I thought was very interesting, and that I would share it with you. From her note: "Chanukah, also spelled Hanukah or Hanukkah, is not a very important Jewish holiday, but it is a fun one, nevertheless. It celebrates the rededication of the temple in Jerusalem after it was attacked by the Greeks, and is also known as the festival of lights. It is normally celebrated by lighting candles on a Menorah, playing dreidel, and eating latkes (potato pancakes). And, of course, presents. In 2012, Chanukah starts the evening of Saturday, December 8th and ends the evening of Saturday December 16th.

  1. Oh, I had the biggest grin on my face, looking at all your beautiful creations. You really did miracles with this kit, and I love every single thing that you created. And, you made a wine bottle tag! I totally forgot that was in the kit. I have had that die forever, and have still never made anything with it. Probably because I drink all my wine, and won't give it away! Please don't make me pick a favorite project--I love them all so much.

  4. Oh Jessica, what a fabulous job you did with Joyce's kit! I love the way you tied your ribbon on that first card. I have to zoom in on that one and examine it closely to figure out how you did it! Ii also really, really love that tag with the triangles. I just couldn't figure out how to use the triangles and you used the on several of your cards...perfectly! Great job this month.

  5. Jessica, wow, I am so inspired by everything you have done. All so beautiful, each and every one! I too did not use the wine tag and happy that I still have it to play with. The triangles stumped me too but you just jumped in and played with all of the ingredients and came up with so many wonderful projects. You are ready for a fun and festive holiday season.

  11. What an awesome collection this month, Jessica! Your cards are fantastic, especially the first one with the way you threaded the ribbon through the little tag. I love how you lined up the menorahs and triangles on the other two cards. I didn't even get started on my tags or treat box, so now I have lots of great ideas for those, too!
