I decided to try a totally different route this time on the PSS challenge. Instead of trying to make my card look exactly like the picture, I just took elements from the picture and created this card:
Here's the inspiration photo:
So the embossing on the craft folder comes from the color and texture of the ice cream cones. The 3 circles were cut to resemble the openings in the cones. Then the fish were colored to match the fruit colors in the cones. Finally, the purple cardstock was taken from the purple plate and the green ribbon is from the greenery in the background.
The stamps and sentiment are all PS. The ribbon and cardstock are from PTI. The embossing folder is SU Sizzix. The rhinestones are from Q & Co.
What a cute card! Love those little sea life stamps and the embossing folder you used really does look like an ice cream cone. Great job, Jessica.
ReplyDeleteJessica, it's adorable! I love the emossing plate that you used, reminds me of sand at the beach! And congrats on your Freshly Made Sketches award!
ReplyDeleteWonderfully cute card. I love how you explained your inspiration. I feel like you just taught me a little mini lesson. I have a problem with inspiration photos, in that I usually try to just replicate the photo. Your way is better, I think. More sophisticated and arty.
ReplyDeleteawesome!!!
ReplyDeletelove the embossed craft and pops of colour...I am so going to make those fruit filled cones! What a great/yummy idea!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant card, and I could see lots of elements of the original photo without it being just the same objects!thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card! I love the placement of everything and the cute coloring of the fishes =) Thank you so much for playing along in this SPARKS challenge!
ReplyDeleteJessica I love your fun take on the photo. I just ordered that SU folder. Another fun adorable card!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Your interpretation of the challenge is SO fun! That waffle embossing to represent the cones is a Great idea.
ReplyDeleteHow fun is this?! I love it when someone explains where the inspiration for the different elements comes from--I have a hard time thinking outside the box on these challenges myself. The texture is awesome and your coloring is super cute!
ReplyDeleteI love how your mind works!!
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous. :)
