Summer Card Camp Week 1

I decided to join an online summer card camp, and the first week's color challenge was uploaded today! Here it is:

And here's the card I created:

This was an unusual color combo, but I tried it out and came out with a cheery card. The pink is PTI Raspberry Fizz, the rest is SU (not sure of all the names). The ribbon is also from SU. The stamps and sentiments are all from PTI, and the fence border punch is from Martha Stewart. This is a Thank You card for some old family friends who just came up to visit us and gave me an absolutely gorgeous pair of hand knitted mittens as a thank you for inviting them :)

Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop

This month's blog hop had an inspiration photo to use to create your card. Here it is:

And this is what I created:

Not only was this card inspired by the photo, but it was also inspired by an absolutely awesome card that my friend, Christina made for the most recent JUGS challenge. Click here to check it out! I just loved how she used the bold colors and on each one there was a different texture. So when I saw the PTI inspiration photo, I knew I wanted to try it! I didn't have any little girly dresses, but I did have this Impression Obsession dress form stamp that I bought ages ago and still hadn't used, so I though that it could work. I stamped it on kraft cardstock, then colored it and outlined it with Copics. I used one of the PTI mat stack dies, too (I thought the craft color kind of resembled the wooden cubby holes in the pic). Then I used the three little library clips to represent the hooks on the wall holding up the dresses. The Hello Friend stamp I just got in my most recent order from PTI, its Think Big Favorites #3. Some of the cardstock is PTI and some SU. Clips and pearls are SU. Hope you enjoy!

Make It Monday #20

This week's Make It Monday was to try the reverse masking technique. So here's my card with this technique:

These awesome PTI buttons were given to me by one of my PTI Pen Pals, Dana!

So I started by using PTI's Asian Fusion set and stamped the vase 3 times on white cardstock, and once on a sticky note to cut out for the masking technique. I then used SU Tempting Turquoise Ink to stamp the new PTI Mehendi Medallion and PTI's Background Basics Text Style on the vases themselves. I also used one of PTI's Think Big Favorites (I think #3) that I just received in this month's order. Then I used one of SU's Sizzix embossing folders to give the card more dimension. The border punch is from Fiskars. This card is for a wonderful new stampin' friend that surprised me last week with an absolutely wonderful gift...can you guess?? Why, a PTI gift certificate, of course!! :)

JUGS #89

This week at the Just Us Girl's Blog they're having this color challenge:

Still wanting to play with my new PTI goodies, I used It's a Jungle Out There to create this card:

I love this little giraffe, and he looks really realistic which is not like me...I usually go for the "cutsey" stamps. I'm glad I've been stepping out of my comfort zone, though. This card is for my friend Suzanne who braved the "wild" to get us tickets to PTI's Stamp-a-Faire!! The tickets sold out in less than 10 minutes, so it was fierce ;) I didn't have the kiwi kiss cardstock, but PTI's new leaf was similar (the ribbon is actually kiwi kiss). I also didn't have the Riding Hood Red, but Rose Red was a close match. The other colors are correct. I also used the Its a Jungle Out there Die, the Sending You die, and the Mehendi Medallion in this card. The grass punch is Martha Stewart, and the label punches are SU. Suzanne is going to continue to get thank you cards for helping me be able to go on this trip, because she is AWESOME!

Secret Sister

This is the bag I decorated for my Secret Sister:

A close up of the tag:

The whole gift:

The tin:

The side:

So I started a Secret Sister group in the Women's Volunteer Organization that I'm a part of. Tonight is the first night to bring something for our sisters, so I put this together. I have a feeling that once she sees the homemade stuff I won't be so much of a secret anymore, lol, but it was fun to create it. I used my new PTI doilie dies and the number dies. I used the SU label punch, and one of the 4th of July SU sets for the firework. I got the little rhinestone from Michaels, and the ribbon was from the dollar bin. The paper I'm not sure, I've had it in my stash forever, and this was the perfect occasion. Inside the little tin is candy (that I got at CVS for FREE!! I'm learning how to coupon). The tin my mom gave me, she had found a bunch for .50 and I've been decorating them and using them for gifts, so they were a great buy! My Sis also said she likes trivia and Sudoku, so that's why those are in the package. It was fun making them all tie together. Hopefully she'll enjoy it :)

CFC #7

This is the first time I've played along with CASual Fridays Challenge, and I've never tried the color blocking technique (at least not on purpose LOL). It was fun. In case you can't tell, I just got my newest PTI order in yesterday...so I had to play with it!

These colors were inspired by one of the cards made during the release (I just loved that the pink was with the zebra!) and also by a card that my PTI pen pal and friend, Dana, sent to be recently. I used PTI's It's a Jungle out there set for the zebra and sentiment. The medallion is from the new Mehendi Medallion set, and I also used the doilie dies that I finally purchased this month :) So it was fun to get to use all my new goodies this time. All the paper is PTI, the label punch is SU and the pearls are A.C. Moore. The ribbon is SU.

Card Patterns Sketch #119 & Color Throwdown #145

This week's Color Throwdown Challenge Colors:

And this week's Card Pattern's Sketch:

Equal my card!

This card is for one of my two wonderful PTI pen pals. She (well actually both have) has been doing some gardening, so I thought it would be nice to send her this card. The set is the newest PTI garden set. The papers, ribbons, buttons, and punch are from SU. The pearls are from AMuse, and the doilie is from Sysco...from my kitchen at work :)

Paper Smooches Guest Designer Challenge

The challenge is to use a paper smooches stamp (I don't own any, but they offer free digital stamps to try out!) and create a card. They'll choose a winner to be a guest designer for the website :) This card is for my sister who just found out she is having a girl in October! The bee image and sentiment are from Paper Smooches. The cloud patterned paper is AMuse, the banner set is PTI. The alphabet strip I got in the dollar bin. The ribbon, cardstock, white grommet, and top note die are all from SU. The pearls are Memory Box. Looking at the card now, I feel I made it a bit too busy, but its still cute. They let you enter more than once, so maybe I'll try a more clean and simple card next :)

cQc #88

Yet another gorgeous color combination from Colour Q this week:

And here's my pairing:

These wonderful little PTI buttons were a gift to me from my PTI Pen Pal Dana! Thanks, Dana :)

Well, I think I've decided that Tea for Two is my favorite PTI set, or at least one of the very top ones! I need to invest in the tea pot die because I have been cutting it out by hand and have used it often, so I think its worth the money :) Anyway, all papers used are SU (including the DSP) and so is the lace ribbon. The scallop punch is also SU. The stamps are all PTI, and the little pearls, I received from my Big Sis in Splitcoaststampers Divine Secret Siblings, and I just can't remember what company they're from at the moment. Anyway, this card is for my other PTI pen pal, Sherrie, and I think she'll like it :) If you want to give this challenge a try yourself, click HERE.

Make It Monday #18: Tissue Paper Technique

Here is the card with matching tin that I made with the tissue paper technique showcased on yesterday's Make It Monday:

Here is a close up of the tissue paper part:

Close up of the top of the tin:

And of course its filled with more of those delicious Rolo cookies I made this weekend!

This card and tin are for my friend Ann who made me a gorgeous scarf. I wore it last week and everyone that saw it wanted to touch it and was like wow that is so neat! I used the 2011 PTI anniversary set to make it. The patterned paper and "For You" sentiment on the tin are from SU. The ribbon is from my friend Suzanne who won it on a blog challenge and was nice enough to share it with me :) My mom gave me the tins, she found them somewhere at like 90% off (she is the best bargain shopper I know!) so I just altered it by covering the top and adding the ribbon. It was the perfect size for the cookies. I know Ann is going to love this...especially the cookies :)
