So I didn't have a cupcake to use, but I did have this simply adorable "carrot cake" Amber Ink digi stamp that I've been itching to use. Who says you can't have pink carrots?
Here you see a close up of the Amber ink iPaper that I used for the background:
I used two hues of pink twine to tie a "candy stripe" bow to go along with the overall "pinkness" of this card :)
The scallop circle in the background is to represent the scallops on the cupcake, obviously I went with pink carrots to go with the pink theme on the cupcake, and then I used some Amuse butterflies to add in that part from the inspiration photo.
The only thing that I didn't use from the inspiration photo were the flowers, but I felt like it made the card too busy. Plus, the tops of the carrots bring in the green from the leaves, so overall, I think I used all elements from the photo. I mentioned all supplies above except for the sentiment which is Amuse, the cardstock which is PTI, and the scallop circle which is SU Sizzix. I used Copics to color the cake, and my Crop-a-dile to punch out the circles in the scallop circle. This was a fun challenge, you should go over and check it out, too! Just click here.
A "carrot" cake, how fun! I would totally eat pink carrots, and I'm sure my daughter would love them too. This is so cute and whimsical!
