Mojo Monday #200

Here's what I made using the Mojo Monday sketch:

Yesterday, Suzanne gave me a bunch of these rolled paper flowers, so I was excited to incorporate one into my design today.

So the inside was originally supposed to be today's PTI Make It Monday with the dry brushing technique...but I didn't like it...at all :( But I didn't want to waste the cardstock, so I folded it the other way and made it the inside. I won't be entering the MIM this week, I just couldn't get this to look nice.

This card is actually for my cousin's (very belated) birthday gift. I had knitted her the coffee cozy, and wanted to make it into a little gift set. It includes the reusable coffee mug and a DD gift card :)

The color for the card came from the color of the cozy, I wanted them to look like the were meant to go together :) The ticket is from that wonderful sheet of ticket paper I got awhile back from my local stamp store. The sentiments and animal stamps are from PTI. The background animal print stamps are from Stampendous. The doily is from PTI, ribbon from my local stamp store, cut by the yard. The label punches are from SU. Hope you enjoy :)

Make It Monday #23

This week's Make It Monday was to use the edger dies to create a pocket for your card, so here is what I created:

A close up of the set that I won for winning Make It Monday awhile back :) I wanted to get it because my good friend/PTI pen pal Dana had given me a bunch of PTI buttons recently, so what better way to use them than with Everyday Button Bits?! So below you also see the PTI buttons from Dana:

And when you pull it out of the pocket, this is what you see:

This card was quick and easy, and turned out really cute. All stamps and sentiments are from PTI. The baker's twine I got at my local stamp store, the rhinestones are left over from Halloween ;) The patterned paper is K & Company, and the cardstock is SU and PTI. The clip, I'm not sure where I got, but it worked out perfectly! This is a birthday card for my friend Dena who I haven't seen in awhile, but will get to deliver it to her in person tomorrow because we're going to a New England PTI Shoebox Swap together!!

Color Q's colors this week:

Maybe its just this stamp, but so far, this is the second card I've made with it, and I LOVE it!!

Copic coloring on the peaches to make them look realistic and I made that little plaid shirt with the gingham PTI background stamp, and cut it out.

Close up of the button. With the Crystal Effects, it turned out more orangey than red...when I started, it looked just like her shirt! Also, don't believe the video when it says it only takes 30 minutes to dry...it was over an hour and I still smudged it when putting it on here, but I didn't have time to mess around, so here it is, lol. Don't try this when you're in a time crunch!

The girl and peaches are from My Favorite Things. The sentiment is from PTI. The cardstock and ribbon are all from SU. And the gingham stamp, as mentioned above is also PTI. CFC #10 & Paper Players #55

No ordinary cards allowed here this week! The challenge was to create a shaped card, anything but a normal A2 Card. Try it out, here.

The bow is STILL repurposed ribbon from an Ann Taylor Loft bag from quite awhile ago...it goes a long way :) Especially since I don't have any grey paper, and a lot of color challenges include grey.

This card is for my friend Ann, who absolutely loves anything with an Asian feel. So when I saw that Michaels was have a huge Clearance event, I had to check it out. When I saw this great Asian themed stamp for only $3.99, it ended up in my cart ;) It is made by Inkadinkado and is called Asian Characters. The lanterns are actually from another $3.99 set made by Hampton Art. It wasn't an Asian set, but they looked perfect for this card :) The Mosaic Tiles are Crystal Stickers by Mark Richards. I found these at Michaels awhile ago and just haven't really found the right place to use them...until today, that is ;) The sentiment is PTI's Signature Greetings. The pearls are Queen and Co. And to make the card base, I used my SU Sizzix scallop circle die. The other two circles are Nestabilities. The paper is all SU, and the colors were perfect for the Asian theme. I think she's going to absolutely love this card :)

CPS #226

I used these colors from cQc #92 in my project today, but I don't know what I was thinking...the link had already closed, so too late to enter for a chance to win. Oh well, they were great cheery colors anyway :)

I got the idea for the hat from one of the PTI design team members. They put it on the zebra with that sentiment, and I knew right away that that was what I wanted to make for my father-in-law for his birthday card!

The zebra print strip came from a Stampendous set that I found at Michaels in the Clearance rack! It was only $3.99 and I knew it would go perfectly with this PTI set. It also had other animal prints, so I'm sure you'll be seeing those soon, too ;)

I found this ribbon at my local stamp store and knew I wanted it right away.

The cardstock is all SU, the patterned paper is K & Company. The rest I pretty much explained above. I know it sounds weird, but I have a feeling my FIL is going to really like this card...you'd understand if you met him ;) His birthday is actually today, on our anniversary. (So you think that would make me remember it and have his card/gift ready early, right? Wrong! Its a good thing Phillip mentioned it yesterday, or I would have completely forgotten!) My brother and sister-in-law also got married on her dad's birthday...weird coincidence, right?

Summer Card Camp Week 3

This card is a special one. For Phillip for our 8 year wedding anniversary tomorrow. He requested the doily on it, too ;)

I embossed the "amazing years" sentiment to give it an extra special something:

I think this is my favorite color combo so far. It is so rich, and definitely works for a masculine card! I used all PTI stamp sets and dies on this card. The cardstock is both SU and PTI. The corduroy button and clip are from SU, and the ribbon was on clearance at Michaels. Some of you read awhile back that he got me 3 sets of matching pearls and earrings (white, pink, and grey) from a trip to Bangladesh recently as my gift (he actually saw them take them out of the shell and then string them on! How cool is that?) I spent all day yesterday making him his favorite meal, that I have actually never made our entire married life...corned beef and cabbage! Happy Anniversary, Phillip!

Summer Card Camp Week #2

Here's the card that I created with this color palette:

This Scenic Serenity stamp I bought last Black Friday at an amazing sale at one of my local stamp stores...I'm just NOW getting around to using it! (That sale was so great that I actually requested to have Black Friday off from work in February LOL!!) I immediately thought of this stamp with this week's colors because its a Tuscan looking scene and those warm oranges, yellows, and greens go great with that look. I'm pretty pleased with how it all came together. The cut out is actually a scrap from another card, but looks really neat as a window and color accent on this card. The patterned paper is from a K & Company 6x6 pad, the ribbon from SU, the punch for sentiment from SU, the sentiment from the PTI Ribbon Tails stamp set.
