Time for another installment of the 12 Kits of Occasions! This month Kara sent us the most gorgeous fall kit. I drooled over the fabulous colors, and I truly enjoyed getting to play with all the elements she sent us. Most of you know that October 2nd was a special day for me, the birth of my son! So I didn't actually start putting together any cards until yesterday (this has never happened with one of my 12 kits!) but let me tell you, I could have made so many more beautiful cards. I have part of another made, but I was just too tired to finish knowing that I also needed to do my blog post. I'm also too tired to figure out why my pictures aren't the same color when I edit them, but I figured you'd all understand! Oh but here is a funny little tidbit. When I got the kit I looked at everything right away. I also noticed that Kara sent candy in the kit. I thought oh what a great idea! So I ate the candy quite awhile ago (when I was still pregnant). It wasn't until later that I found out we were supposed to USE the candy in the kit...whoops!!
I just love those word dies (can you tell since I used one on every card? ;) I think the second is my favorite. Now I'm off to look at what all my other talented friends created, you should join, too :)
Hi Jessica!! How is motherhood? I am so totally impressed that you were able to assemble three cards in the same month you gave birth. It took me 11 years from the birth of my daughter before I made my first card. They are all fantastic, and I love that you used all of the word die cuts. And, the candy---I ate it all the first day, too.
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica! I was hoping for a baby peek!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are enjoying every min. Well, the times when Sonny sleeps and does not cry.
Ok Love these cards ! The middle one with the woodgrain is amazing! Love how elegant that one looks.Love the way you placed the feather on the first one, hey , all three are gorgeous!
Hugs!
Hi Jessica, well now you need to do another post just for Sonny--jus'sayin.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are all fabulous and i am super impressed that you were actually able to do them with the busy month you have had. :) I loved the paper you used on the first one and when it came down to it I wasn't sure how to showcase it, well you did with horizontal orientation. The woodgrain paper and the big gold leaf is gorgeous especially with the button and brad. The vellum leaves had me stumped too but you did them beautifully. FYI, I ate the candy too! lol
Even though you were a bit tired, you sure knocked out some great cards Jessica...love that you used each of the word dies and I love the card with the gold leaf...that was so elegant with the woodgrain paper.
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty! I LOVE the one with the gold leaf! That's just awesome!
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica, hugs to you and your little guy! Love your cards and so glad you were able to join in this month. The ones with the gold leaves are so gorgeous. Love your wonderful CAS design with the woodgrain--really stunning!

Hope all is well for you and the little guy...
and that you're actually getting some sleep! :)
Jessica...you would never know from the look of your amazing cards that you made them the day before. They are fabulous and I love that you uses so many of the leaves, so much inspiration! My favorite one is your first card, I love that bright orange on the gold patterned paper, just beautiful. Hope you and your little sweetie are doing well, I love seeing your photos.
ReplyDeleteI hope all is going well for you and baby Sonny! I can't believe you were able to create such beautiful cards as a new mama--it was all I could do to get out of my pajamas when my daughter was a month old. :) Your second card is my favorite--such a lovely, clean design and a gorgeous use of the gold leaf as an accent to the die cut word. I'm so glad to have 2 of the words left to use on future cards. Your designs have given me some great ideas!
ReplyDeleteI would have eaten the candy, too.... :D
